Enjoy the Baked Gorditas and Other Local Dishes

Any day is a good day for enjoying the steamed leg of pork from the Los Jorges restaurant. Other regional dishes that stand out are the pipián rojo (thick red chili sauce), mint meatballs, and tortas de huachal (dish made with dried, ground corn mixed with eggs and served in a tomato or black bean sauce).

If it’s the weekend and you’re feeling hungry, the restaurant most likely to satisfy you is Hoja de Roble, a regional kitchen where they prepare something everyone loves: meat cooked in its own juices served with black beans and orange or oats agua fresca (a refreshing drink), as well as baked gorditas (corn pockets with fillings).
