Bet on the Horses in the Hipódromo de las Américas

At almost 80 years old, the Sotelo track is still a frontrunner. It all began on March 6, 1943, when the mare Torch Betty went down as the first winner on inauguration day. That was the start of the glory days for fans of the Sport of Kings. More than 100 thousand races have been held since then.

Since its 1999 remodel, fans can watch the jockeys and horses in the paddock before placing their bets. Spectators enjoy a full view of the track from wherever they are seated; they will see thoroughbreds and quarter horses race.

Don’t miss the Handicap de las Americas, the year’s top event. Experts consider this one of the best equipped racetracks using world-class technology. It offers a clinic and pool for the horses that stay here. There are also four restaurants and the Granja de las Américas family fun park.
