Cozumel Pearl Farm

Cozumel Pearl Farm is a family initiative cultivating pearls responsibly in the Caribbean since 2001

Did you know it takes five years for pearl oysters to form these precious spheres of mother-of-pearl? Learn about this and more at Cozumel Pearl Farm, an initiative cultivating pearls in the island’s north—it is well-worth the visit!

Why Visit Cozumel Pearl Farm

In the north of Cozumel Island lies a pearl farm that’s truly worth visiting—Cozumel Pearl Farm. Since 2001, this family initiative has been cultivating pearls with Pinctada radiata oysters, following a meticulous process with many precise steps.

You’ll learn about this process during a talk held at a small, isolated bar on the beach. If you’re feeling adventurous, join a snorkeling tour to see a massive bronze statue of the Virgin, submerged as a form of protection for their farm.

“We’ve been in business for only 18 years, which may seem long, but in the pearl farming industry, we’re just getting started. We work hard to produce pearls, and we’re still in the project’s research phase, so our pearl production is limited. That’s why we sell pearl jewelry only at our farm and on our website. Each piece is lovingly crafted by an independent and talented Mexican artisan, supporting her years-long struggle to become a great jeweler. We believe in collaborating with among Mexican entrepreneurs to drive the country’s economic growth.”
