Instituto Cultural Cabañas

This building was built in 1805 by the architect Manuel Tolsá. It’s a neoclassical structure featuring 23 courtyards, 106 rooms, 78 hallways, and two chapels. The purpose of the property was originally to provide shelter to orphans, the elderly, and the helpless… hence its name. Apart from enjoying cultural activities, you can also check out the murals byJosé Clemente Orozco.
