Yuriria Lagoon
At the same time as the religious building of San Pablo was being erected, the Laguna de Yuriria was shaping up to be the first 16th-century large hydraulic construction in America. Friar Diego de Chávez was in charge of the project. This lagoon is 11 miles long and 4 miles wide, and you can see several islands on it, among which the Isla de San Pedro, El Fuerte and Las Cabras stand out.
