La Dificultad Mine & Museum

La Dificultad is an example of a mine during the transition between the age of steam and the beginning of the era of electricity. With its iconic smokestack and massive warehouses, this is the most imposing mine in town. Much of its machinery—such as its huge winch—still works. However, over time it has been adapted to be part of its Site Museum. The museum will teach you all about mining and its processes through scale models and photographs.
