Diego Rivera was born and spent his childhood in this mansion, which dates back to 1864. Today it houses an important collection of works by the Mexican muralist, as well as furniture and personal objects.
You will find more than 150 original works by Rivera here, which pay testament to his many creative phases; among them are portraits, landscapes, nudes and sketches, works he created in his childhood and others he produced a year before his death, in 1956.
Furthermore, the six temporary galleries regularly showcase exhibitions of Mexican and foreign artists, conferences and painting and photography workshops. The museum has an auditorium, a library, a bookshop and a gift shop.
