Religious Art Museum
Museo de San Ignacio de LoyolaAlso called the Museo de Arte Sacro, this religious art museum sits on the remains of an old convent. The thick adobe and stone walls of the building were constructed by Tarahumara laborers. The museum exhibits an interesting collection of more than 40 sacred art paintings from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, collected from old Rarámuri places of worship. Several of these paintings are large in scale and very high quality. The museum is staffed by local women.
