Bullfighting Museum and La Taurina Bullring

Museo Taurino and Plaza de Toros La Taurina

An 18th-century building that was first an inn and then an educational space, for the last 40 years the Bullfighting Museum has housed an interesting collection of documents and iconic items from Mexico’s bullfighting scene. A trip through its galleries gives a look at 20th-century posters, models of Tlaxcala, Puebla, Hidalgo and Mexico City’s bullrings, oil paintings by bullfighting painters, bronze sculptures donated by cattle ranchers, programs of the bullfights printed on silk, bullfighter’s costumes, capes, muletas, and photos of bullfighters from Mexico and abroad.

Next door, bullfighting enthusiasts will find La Taurina bullring. The best fights are during the Feria de Huamantla.
