Mérida’s Museums

Begin in the Gran Museo Maya, a modern museum that will introduce you to the history of the Yucatan Peninsula. In the Museo de la Ciudad, you will find items from the Colonial, Independence, and Revolutionary eras. Other museums worth a visit include the Museo de la Canción Yucateca, dedicated to poetic trova music, and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Ateneo de Yucatán (MACAY), the city’s only modern and contemporary art museum.
