Main Square

In Atlixco’s main square, also known as Parque Colón, you’ll find wonderful tiled benches showing typical scenes and a Sevillian-style gazebo. As you move on, you’ll find monuments to Benito Juárez, Francisco Pablo Vázquez, and Isaac Ochoterena—father of modern biology in Mexico. There are wonderful dining and lodging options among the arch-lined buildings, including small boutiques! If a moment of peace and quiet is what you’re after, there’s nothing better than taking a seat in the gazebo to read a good book and sip a cup of coffee. You’ll have the Nuestra Señora de la Natividad Parish Church as company in the background.
