In the center of Atlixco’s downtown is a two-story gazebo where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. On one of the corners of the square is the Church of Santa María de la Natividad, whose construction started in the beginning of 1644. The church is noteworthy for its two Churrigueresque altars adorned by paintings by Pueblan artist Luis Berrueco. The people come and go from the church or stop in one of the restaurants sheltered under the nearby colonnades.
