Santiago Apóstol Parish Church
This pyramidal based church dressed in stones and adorned with one tower sits facing the plaza. It dates from the 17th century and inside it houses a neoclassical altarpiece. A few steps away from the church, there’s the statue of the martyr-saint Toribio Romo, as well as the chapels dedicated to the Lord of the Helpless (Capillas del Señor de los Desamparados), which was the first religious center built in the area in 1536.
