Sanctuary and Basilica of the Virgin of Ocotlán
Santuario y Basílica de la Virgen de Ocotlán
This church was founded in honor of the apparition of the Virgin Mary to the indigenous man Juan Diego Bernardino in 1541. It is considered one of the truest expressions of 18th-century baroque architecture.
Its front is the most ornate creation in the Puebla-Tlaxcala region, formed with brick and mortar.
