Sanctuary of Fátima
Santuario de la Virgen de Fátima
This church holds several canvases of what are called “vírgenes refugiadas” (refugee Virgins), as the images brought from countries such as Poland, Lithuania, Venezuela, and Cuba—where Catholicism wasn’t allowed—are known. The church’s architecture is modern but beautiful; it also has a chapel that is a replica of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. These refugee Virgins are celebrated at the end of November and the beginning of December.
