Juárez Theater

The majestic Teatro Juárez, dating back to the 19th century, cuts a striking figure in the center of Guanajuato. Over the years it has gone through several refurbishments that have almost completely transformed its appearance. Today, its facade and interior showcase an interesting and attractive mix of architectural styles. 

Inaugurated in 1903 by the president Porfirio Díaz, this theater is where important cultural and entertainment events take place; it has been one of the main locations of the Festival Internacional Cervantino (International Cervantino Festival) since 1972.

Don’t miss out on admiring its facade, adorned with spectacular, Greek-inspired columns, and eight bronze sculptures, as well as its European-style performance hall. It is all a delight for the senses!
