San Cayetano Church

Templo de San Cayetano

Erected on a hill overlooking the city, this 18th-century church is evidence of the region’s glorious mining past. It was built between 1775 and 1788 with the profits from La Valenciana silver mine, one of the world’s most productive silver mines of the time.

Its stunning front was created in the baroque Churrigueresque style with pink limestone. The sumptuously decorated interior is home to golden altarpieces as well as a pulpit inlaid with marble and precious woods. Don’t miss its massive organ!
