Temple of San Juan de Dios

Templo San Juan de Dios

This temple is located in the neighborhood of the same name and is the only church in the city built in a churrigueresque style. It was built by Johannine monks, and before it was a church it functioned as a hospital, funded by King Philip II of Spain. At the top of the smallest tower is a clock with bullet marks on it, acquired during the Mexican Revolution. On its lateral facade, you will see the figure of St Michael Archangel, with the demon at his feet.
