Franciscan Temple and Convent
Templo y Convento de San Francisco de SalvatierraThis construction dates back to 1743 and has three altars; the main altar is dedicated to Saint Bonaventure, the transept altar to the Immaculate Conception and the altar located in the middle of the church, to the Lord of the Three Falls. Its cloisters were restored after being left in ruins during the Cristero War, and today they are open to the public. The church is still the home to Franciscan monks, who play football in the afternoon in the garden that used to be just for growing vegetables.
