The traditional Mayan solar is a large stretch of land used for a number of domestic activities, growing crops, raising backyard animals, and there are even spaces set aside for various productive activities. In the front is the house, and on the sides are other spaces such as the traditional kitchen garden, the ka’anché, which is closest to the kitchen. The Solar Maya is just waiting for whoever would like to learn about how knowledge from the past has become part of and adapted to present-day lifestyles.
