Charreadas (Mexican horsemanship competitions)

August is the traditional month of charreadas. The charro associations from Jonuta, Carmen, Candelaria, Campeche and other places come together in Palizada to display their horse riding skills and to demonstrate escaramuza charra (the practice of charrería by women).
