Day of the Virgin of Izamal

Izamal’s most important celebration is on December 8th, during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception who is also the Virgin of Izamal, but festivities begin the week before.

During the celebration, the sculpture of the Virgin processes through the main streets of the Magical Town to the cheers of the faithful who want to take part in the traditional crowning of the Virgin.
