Day of the Dead Parade
Festival de la CalacaThis parade of elegant, skeletal catrina ladies and skulls honors the Mexican tradition of celebrating the Day of the Dead.
The procession runs from the Casa de la Cultura to the 13 de Julio plaza. During the event there are musical presentations featuring regional artists, expos, and a contest of pre-Hispanic and mestizo, or mixed ancestry, altars. Don’t miss the presentation of Sonora’s largest traditional bread of the dead, plays, and the street performances with stilt walkers and acrobats.
