Feast Day of the Patron Saint

In the town of El Llanito, located only 4 miles to the south of Dolores Hidalgo, the new year kicks off with a big celebration in honor of the Señor de los Afligidos, the town’s patron saint. During the day, in the central square, pre-Hispanic Otomí dances take place, there are fairground rides and snacks, and at night, a colorful fireworks display.
