Hanal Pixán
Every November there is a very special celebration for the Day of the Dead in Valladolid and other parts of the Yucatan called Hanal Pixán, which means “feast for the spirits.” This celebration, as the name indicates, is a time to remember with food the loved ones who are no longer with us.
Visitors to Valladolid in these days can not only admire the marvelous offerings and the colorful Paseo de la Ánimas procession with elegant, skeletal, catrina and catrin figures, but also learn about and sample the most important regional dishes.
