With 1,169 square miles of territory, Acapulco de Juárez is located in the south of Guerrero state. It borders Chilpancingo de los Bravo to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the south. To the east, it borders the municipality of San Marcos, and Coyuca de Benítez to the west.
