Walk Through the Center and Along the Seafront

A walk along the main streets in Veracruz’s city center will allow you to admire emblematic buildings such as the Catedral de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción cathedral, the Municipal Palace, or the Antigua Capitanía de Puerto building. Don’t miss the group of buildings that form Los Portales, or colonnades, where you can catch the contagious jarocho joy. While on the seafront, make sure to see the boatyards and the port area that culminates in the imposing fort of San Juan de Ulúa.
