Shop for Traditional Handicrafts from Cuitzeo

Thanks to the tule rushes that grow along the lake, you can pick up many different handicrafts made with them, including baskets, rugs, hats, and petate mats. There are several handicraft shops downtown, don’t pass them up! If you are looking for something made with copper, clay, or wood, head to the neighboring towns of Santa Clara and Pátzcuaro, which are only 15 minutes away by car.
