Stroll Along the Trails

Trekking enthusiasts can enjoy four established trails in Rosarito, a perfect opportunity to enjoy the open green spaces of the surrounding hills and canyons nearby. For those looking for a peaceful family day out, there is the Sendero Parque Metropolitano trail. Snaking along the historic canyon of Rosarito, its short descents and ascents make it perfect for all fitness levels. You can walk, or even mountain bike here all year round.

In the El Descanso canyon there is another 9.6-mile circuit. Ideal for intermediate hikers, it has narrow and irregular paths, with slopes that require greater physical effort and the obligatory use of walking sticks. But whoever walks this path will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views.

The Cerro del Coronel is the highest in the area, if you decide to tackle this tricky path, views of the sea or the mountain range await. This is a firm favorite among local hiking enthusiasts in the Tijuana-Rosarito region.

Behind El Coronel is Cerro El Piloncillo, with a trail along the peak ridge joining these two hills. It is highly recommended for those brave and skilled enough to tackle it, wanting to see a panorama over the vast expanse of rural landscape below.
