Visit the Teatro Esperanza Iris

This is the state’s most important cultural center, and it presents cutting-edge artistic and cultural shows from within Mexico and from around the world.

This theater was named in honor of the opera, operetta, and zarzuela singer from Tabasco who dominated the music scene at the beginning of the 20th century. This magnificent stage is located inside the Centro de Investigaciones de la Cultura Olmeca-Maya (CICOM) (Olmec-Maya Culture Research Center), a cultural and touristic complex of impressive architectural design that is also home to the Jose María Pino Suárez Library and the José Gorostiza Casa de Artes.
