Lacquer Museum

The complicated and ancient tradition of laca (lacquer) still lives on this town. Poke your nose into the School House of Traditions, also known as the Museo de la Laca (Lacquer Museum), to see how they create jícaras (gourds) and xicalpestles (bowls), chests and crosses. Workshops are also held here to teach people how to practice laca, wood working and embroidery. It is located within what was once the Convento de Santo Domingo, and it also features an auditorium.
