San Blas Fort

On top of the Cerro de Basilio hill, in San Blas, you will find this fort built in 1760. For the inhabitants of the state it is one of their most important historic sites; in New Spain it was a naval base, and it was a battleground during the War of Independence as well as the war against the United States. Its privileged location provides it with unique panoramic views. You should take the opportunity whilst there to visit the Templo de la Virgen del Rosario (Temple of the Virgin of the Rosary), which is located only a few feet away.
