The Allende Institute, founded in 1736, was originally the home of Don Manuel Tomás de la Canal. Sometime later it was turned into a Carmelite convent and in 1951 it became an art and language school. Today it is divided into two spaces; the first is comprised of a patio, a garden, and an old chapel, while the second is used for courses and workshops.
