Holy Week in Taxco
The Magical Town of Taxco is the setting for one of Mexico’s most impressive Semana Santa (Holy Week) festivities; and seeing it up close is an experience you will never forget.
The Monday after Palm Sunday is when the silent processions take place, led by the beating drums and lit up with candles along the city’s roads and alleyways. On the evening of Good Friday, the various processions parade through the town, moving from one church to the next.
