Keeping the traditions of their ancestors, the Yaquis carry out a series of events known as Ramadas during the week before Easter. During this celebration, several Sonoran ethnicities fulfill a religious promise by dressing as Pharisees, wearing masks and special outfits, as well as sleeping in ramadas, or metal structures covered with palm fronds, to avoid any kind of comfort.
The Lenten and Holy Week traditions of the Yaqui people is the cultural heritage and pride of the people of Hermosillo.
