Keep in Mind
- Plan the activities you want to do, check out iconic sites, their opening hours, and travel times. You’ll find unique experiences like visiting archeological sites, cenotes, nature parks, golf courses, and destinations for discovering underwater life and water sports, along with a wide range of nightlife hot spots.
- Take licensed tours and use certified guides, especially when visiting archeological sites. But their services are required for many activities.
- If you’re a student or teacher, bring your ID as some museums and archeological sites offer discounts.
- Research the weather conditions for the time you plan to travel. The average annual temperature in the Caribbean is around 80 °F in the summer with highs in the 90s. In the winter, temperatures can fall to 60°F. But the weather can be unpredictable any time of year.

- While most places accept cards and dollars, it’s good to carry some cash in the local currency.
