Camp Out in the Forest and Hike

All around the Magical Town of Tlaxco you can hike and camp in the woods. Here are two of the spots you can visit:

Campamento La Peñuela (14 miles). Tucked in Bosque Peña Bendita, you can hike through the forest to the top of the mountain, which is 10,820 feet above sea level. Check out the prehistoric rock mural, and try to figure out what it means.

Al Final de la Senda. As the name literally says, this place is at the end of the road. Enjoy the remote location to soak up the forest—explore it on foot or on horseback. Or, whiz down a zip line and stay in rustic cabins with fireplaces. You can also rock climb and rappel down the wall or gear up for an ATV outing. If you are a true nature lover, you have to try the interpretive trail through the forest that is home to deer.
