Sample the Machaca and Other Local Dishes
Don’t leave without sampling this Magical Town’s traditional food.
Machaca, a kind of shredded, dried beef that is typical in the north of the country, can be eaten by itself or in tomato soup, scrambled with eggs, in green sauce, or with vegetables.
For dessert, the most traditional options are sugarcane candy, jams made with a variety of fruit, caramelized milk candies, and sweet tamales.
