Birdwatch on Isla Pájaros
Go on one of the boat trips that depart from Isla Aguada and head to Pájaros Island, an islet formed by the mangrove forest’s tenacious roots and branches. Close to the water, on the tops of the trees, you will notice frigate birds swinging from branch to branch as they perform its mating ritual. The males inflate their red wattles to attract females and guarantee a new generation of chicks born on the island, a home they share with cormorants, gannets, ducks, herons, and seagulls.
