Besides fostering academics, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México offers a number of cultural, sports, and leisure activities. Wander around the university campus and admire the murals adorning the buildings such as the Biblioteca Central (library), the Estadio Olímpico Universitario (stadium), and the Rectoría (rectory). Don’t miss your chance to visit to the Universum, the Jardín Botánico (botanical garden), and the Centro Cultural Universitario (cultural center), where you can find a wide range of dance, film, and music events. The Estadio Olímpico Universitario was given its futuristic design by architects Augusto Pérez Palacios, Raúl Salinas Moro, and Jorge Bravo Jiménez, with Diego Rivera’s mural La Universidad, la familia mexicana, la paz y la juventud deportista (The University, Mexican Family, Peace, and Athletic Youth) stretching across the side.
