Aqueduct and Lookout

By making it possible to bring water in from the springs east of town, this magnificent 18th-century civil engineering work assured Querétaro’s place on the map. Begun under the Marquis de la Villa del Villar del Águila, the architectural work consists of 74 masonry arches. Not far from here, there’s a lookout, where you see how the landscape slowly rises to form the Sierra Gorda. It also affords an impressive view of the most modern part of the city.
