The Dr. Luis Mario Schneider University Museum covers Malinalco’s history all the way back to its pre-Hispanic origins. It was named out of veneration for Malinalxóchitl, the Mexica goddess of the dark arts and sorcery.

Despite its small size, it’s a magnificent museum. Inside, it holds the statue of the god Ehécatl found at Ídolos Hill. There’s also a botanical garden, bookstore, a gallery devoted to the region’s herbal medicine, and a trout aquarium.
