El Tajín Archeological Site

Just 6 miles from Papantla, this archeological site is also called the City of the God of Thunder. It was once one of Mesoamerica’s religious and political centers.

The site’s most emblematic building is the Pyramid of the Niches, which still holds many secrets and has given rise to numerous interpretations about its importance to the ancient residents of El Tajín.
