Virgen del Carmen Celebrations
All of the towns around Tlalpujahua carry out a pilgrimage to Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Carmen on July 16. There are masses, rosaries, and “Las mañanitas,” the traditional birthday song, is sung to celebrate Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
