Every August, Our Lady of Charity dons new robes embroidered with golden thread, thanks to the expert hands of Tlaxcala’s women who are masters of the art of canutillo embroidery which uses special metallic thread. Also during this month, elaborate, ephemeral rugs of colorful flower petals, sand, and wood shavings are laid out.
