The facade of Templo de San Francisco Acatepec is covered in multi-colored talavera mosaics. The wood altarpieces, which had been damaged by fire, were reconstructed in plaster by the Pantle family. There are three access points to the octagon-shaped atrium. Apart from its ornamental function, this space served as an open chapel and, later, as a burial site. It has a Latin cross floorplan with seven bodies and the interior has major baroque elements such as the golden altarpiece at the altar.
