Just 13 miles northeast of Mérida is this little-known archeological site. This is the site of one of the most impressive solar phenomenon ever recorded. Around 5:00, you can see how the windows and doors of the so-called “Templo de las Siete Muñecas” frame the sun’s silhouette as it moves through the sky until it is just behind the building, giving the spectator a stunning view of the sun shining through and outlining the structure.
