To the west of the capital, highway 40 will take you to areas of stunning natural beauty. Wildlife and outdoor activity lovers will find a range of options to enjoy. One is Mexiquillo park containing a rock system nestled in a conifer forest and a waterfall that plunges 66 feet. Another option is Parque Ecológico El Tecuán.

In both parks you can hike, fish, bike, camp, and take rides on horseback or in off-road vehicles.
