A few miles from Puebla’s capital city sits Cholula, a Magical Town that features colonial-era churches, extraordinary gastronomy, and fine talavera earthenware.

On the other side of the city of Puebla, to the southwest, you will find Atlixco, famous for its flower farms. Here it is worth getting a closer look at the San Juan de Dios Municipal Hospital and Picture Gallery. It is one of only a few structures from colonial times that continues to be used for the same purposes today as it was then.

To the north is Chignahuapan, a town of colorful houses and handicrafts. There you will discover its lake and rivers, as well as its waterfall and hot springs, signs of the town’s rich natural heritage.

Close by is Zacatlán, known for its many apple trees, as well as the monumental clocks and the bakeries that fill the streets with their sweet aromas.
