Old San Francisco Cemetery
This cemetery is a must-see spot. It is an enjoyable experience, and there are several interesting details to take in. For example, the entrance gate features decorative designs shaped like peyote, a sign of the region’s syncretism. Inside sits a chapel dedicated to the Virgen de Guadalupe (1775), adorned with interesting frescos. Along the ground lie gravestones of important figures of the past, while several women from the Bible are painted on the four corners of the cupola, an unusual subject matter.
